Find out all you need to know about the one-stop shop services available at Rockwood Bottling Solutions.

Yes. Rockwood offers a comprehensive one-stop shop solution that includes 8 services tailored to client specifications. Beyond bottling, we provide bespoke bottle creation in glass or ceramic out of our European-owned manufacturing plants in a Duty-Free Zone (Economic Processing Zone) near Shanghai, China. Tailored services include the provision of caps, including T-caps, aluminum Ropp caps (short or long), and Guala closures, label creation, spirit and liquor production, private label development, shipping, and a host of administrative services that streamline your project. Check out the Rockwood Glass and Rockwood Ceramics website for details.

Absolutely. Our well-equipped laboratory and A-grade raw ingredients enable us to craft premium spirits and liquors including, whiskey, gin, and vodka (with the choice of added flavors). The fact that our bottling factories are located in an Export Processing Zone (Duty-Free zone), means that our clients are exempt from mentioning China on the final product labels if we produce spirits for them in one of our partner distilleries in Europe, for example. So if we create your recipe in France and then bottle the product at Rockwood Bottling Solutions in China, your bottle labels will state “Product of France”, and not Product of China.

You have the flexibility to supply your own alcohol or opt for premium product from our alcohol inventory. We are happy to provide you with samples of Rockwood’s gin, vodka, whisky, cognac, and brandy, upon request. This approach saves valuable time, reduces costs, and ensures a finished product. In the case of the USA, bottle taxes are greatly optimized.

No. Because Rockwood Bottling Solutions is located in a Duty-Free zone (Economic Processing Zone / Free Bonded Zone) outside of Shanghai, you are not obliged to make any reference to China on the bottle labels. You only need to mention the alcohol’s country of origin, as well as the name and location of the importing company at the final destination.

No, you won’t. The Rockwood Glass bottling (filling) plant is located in an Export Processing Zone (EPZ or tax-free zone) on the port of Zhapu/Ningbo, just South of Shanghai. For this reason, the products that come in and out are exempt from taxes.

Yes, Rockwood offers seamless international export services. We manage logistics and documentation, facilitating container shipping to over 100 countries through our trusted partners. We have been catering to renowned brands and private labels worldwide for decades.

The transit time to the Port of Rotterdam, a reference point, is approximately 30 to 37 days.

Rockwood uses the Port of Ningbo for its exporting operations.

Our process involves meticulous packing of shipping cartons or pallets, which are then securely loaded into containers. We provide you with a photo of the loaded container before sealing, ensuring transparency in packing standards. You have the flexibility to use your own freight forwarder or leverage our efficient logistics service for port or door delivery. Customized quotations are provided for comparison.

Rockwood collaborates with various shipping partners. We cater to specific preferences upon customer request. Our extensive partnerships ensure competitive pricing and attentive service.

The loaded bottles, arranged in bulk with dividers or cartons as per your choice, are firmly secured by shrink-wrapping each pallet. This ensures stability and protection during transit.

If you opt to supply the finished product, this would typically be ethanol at 40% or your desired ABV, at a high distillation proof such as 75%. We can then dilute it with reverse osmosis to bring the ABV to the required level. Additionally, you will need to provide documents such as a Certificate of Origin and supplier declarations.

Our process includes adjusting the liquid to the perfect ABV and filtering it through pad filtration or microfiltration (0.20) before filling.

We can tailor the chilling process to your specifications, ensuring optimal quality. While we recommend a standard chilling period of 5 days at -19 degrees Celsius, we will consider your preferences first.

Yes, blending flavours for our clients is a big part of what we do. Once you share your recipes with us we will start collaborating closely to ensure that your unique spirit or liquor is perfected to your taste and requirements. If sugar needs to be added we will use extra fine Korean sugar or liquid sugar at 67-brix.

The process takes approximately 45 to 60 days for the mold's creation and for samples to be sent to you for approval, and a further 45-60 days for the mass production of your order.

The filling process is guaranteed to take no more than 15 days, upon having received and prepared all other components, such as the liquid, bottles, caps, etc.

Yes. You can send alcohol quantities that cover several months of bottling, preferably in 1000Lt IBC containers. If bottling will take place on an ongoing basis, you can also ship the bulk in 24,000Lt ISO tanks. Upon receipt, everything is stored in our Bonded (Duty-Free) warehouse.

Yes. We conduct a comprehensive array of tests based on your requirements. These range from ABV checks before and after bottling to full GC analysis, tasting evaluations, and density assessments.

Depending on your preference, we offer options for either filling level or volume level. We collaborate closely with you to ensure precise control according to your specifications.

Our stringent quality control measures encompass every step, from production to bottling. Should an issue arise, we bear the cost of rectification whether it is for the actual bottle manufacturing or a shipment issue. We ensure that your finished product is approved by you before bottling commences so that you can have a final check of the flavor and bespoke bottle prior to filling.

Yes, and we welcome such visits. We arrange the necessary visa requirements and all details to ensure a smooth experience during your factory visit.

Our capability extends to a wide array of bottle sizes and shapes. We accommodate complex designs on our semi-automated lines. We're here to deliver unparalleled quality, service, and customization. Yes, the details of your bespoke glass bottle design can remain confidential. The more reputable Rockwood Glass customers often ask for a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). The NDA protects your intellectual property and ensures that your design is not shared with others without your permission.

A sample mold for a bespoke glass bottle can be used as an early step in a client’s bottle-development process. It is a cost-effective way for a client to review their design and adjust it before committing to full production. A sample mold is only good for around 5-10 sample pieces.

A production mold is produced only once the final design has been confirmed. This is a full set of production molds that are usable for around 500,000 mass-produced glass bottles. If a mass production mold expires (the quality is depleted) both during or after all bottles have been manufactured, Rockwood Glass will replace it free of charge.

As is the case in all bottle manufacturing plants, some dust or other contaminants can potentially enter the glass bottles. For this reason, they should always be cleaned prior to filling.

Rockwood Glass is China’s first French-owned glass and ceramic bottle manufacturer. Multi-tiered quality control (QC) of European standards is diligently enforced across our 6 production lines for glass bottles made of flint, super flint, and black glass, our 1 line dedicated to cobalt blue bottles, and the 8th line to miniature glass bottles. All products are individually examined by post-annealing inspectors, and controlled for thickness, glass dimensions, and possible defects. Our clients receive thick, clear, premium quality glass which is free of impurities.

If you have specific inspection criteria that differ from the ones regularly enforced, we can create bespoke quality processes that meet your requirements. Additionally, you are welcome to visit and inspect the glass bottle production lines during the manufacturing phase of your bottles. This can be facilitated via your account manager at Rockwood Glass.

Yes, foreign authorities always approve our products without any problems. We have hundreds of products already approved by the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB). We are happy to take you through all the steps of the approval process. Ann Morse is our TTB specialist in Washington (ex-TTB agent). She is very efficient and knowledgeable.

It is possible to fit approximately 25,000 standard 750ml glass bottles in a 40HQ (high cube) container assuming that they are packed in cartons on pallets. Approximately 27,000 glass bottles if they are floor-stacked. For more complicated shaped 750ml bottles, this figure can drop to around 22,000 in cartons.

An example of smaller capacity bottles would be standard 12 oz (354ml) beer bottles. Approximately 60,000 of these can fit in a 40HQ.
